About Us

Paramount Air Service is the nation’s oldest and largest aerial advertising firm. We have been flying advertising banners along the New Jersey shore since 1945. Paramount air service has a fleet of twelve vintage Piper Cubs which fly low and slow along the beach with advertising messages to a captive audience. These old time airplanes making a clack, clack, clack sound are a welcome sight to the many hundreds of thousands who visit our beaches daily. Your message cannot be overlooked!

Paramount Air Service began when Andre Tomalino, of Drexel Hill and Stone Harbor, returned home after World War II and decided to make a living doing what he loved, flying, where he loved living, at the shore. Andre was a glider pilot in the Army Air Corp for the duration of the war. He used the same techniques for picking up and releasing the banners that he had used for the tow and glider planes.

Paramount Air Service is still owned by the Tomalino family. Andre’s daughter Barbara bought the business in 1985 and operates it today along with a staff of 25- 30 seasonal employees. And Andre still enjoys “hangar flying” with the new pilots each year. The Federal Aviation Administration has honored Andre many times for his more than 70 years in aviation “earning a distinguished reputation for conducting safe and effective banner tow operations.” The FAA stated that “Mr. Tomalino has the reputation for pioneering numerous procedures and equipment developments which have subsequently become industry standards. For his many contributions to the aviation industry we and your fellow industry members are justifiably grateful.”
