Our Company
Paramount Air Service is the nation’s oldest and largest aerial advertising firm. We started in Cape May County, New Jersey in 1945 flying along the beachfronts of Cape May, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, Avalon, Sea Isle City and Ocean City.
Andre Tomalino and his brother-in-law Grover Kauffman were GI’s home from WWII ready to make their mark on the world. They were both from the Philadelphia area and had family homes at the Jersey Shore so that was the area they wanted to live and work in. Andre had been a glider pilot during the war and had an insatiable love of flying. They bought a surplus war plane for $650 and set up business.
They also bought a small plot of land in North Wildwood and built a BBQ restaurant. Grover enjoyed the food business and Andre needed to fly so they each continued in the business of their choice.
In 1966 Andre Tomalino expanded the business into Atlantic County by buying Atlantic City Aerial Service, based at Bader field in Atlantic City. This added territory as well as five bi-planes to the five Piper cubs which Paramount owned.
Paramount Air Service would fly year-round; Eagles and University of Pennsylvania football games in the Fall, Florida beaches in the Winter, Cherry Hill Race Track and Phillies games in the Spring, and the Jersey shore in the Summer. Now Paramount concentrates all efforts to the summer at the Shore. We can arrange for flights all over the USA all year long, but our twelve Piper Cubs stay in New Jersey during the summer months.
We have our own airport in Cape May County along the Delaware Bay, near the Cape May and Wildwood beaches. Our 2400ft grass landing strip, 8000 square foot hangar, 3000 square foot banner lockers, and office are the main base for our operations. We have thousands of letters in our inventory and twelve Piper Cubs at Paramount AirField JY04.
During the summer we hire approximately thirty employees to produce the banners, set the banners up for the pilots, mechanics for the constant upkeep of the airplanes, office staff, and pilots. Our entire staff is dedicated to safety and quality of service.
Paramount flies advertising banners for a variety of clients. We advertise for the many restaurants and entertainment venues at the Shore as well as in the tri-state area. Many Universities, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, corporations, armed services have used Paramount for recruitment purposes. We have been used extensively for branding of new affiliations, new names, new pharmaceuticals.
Name recognition and awareness are key to promotional goals; Paramount Air Service is most cost-effective in meeting these goals for our clients. The millions who visit our beaches daily are a captive audience. An aerial banner flying along the beach behind an old-fashioned airplane cannot be overlooked!
